Stephen H. Smith designed and sculpted this life-size bronze sculpture of Sally Ride, the pioneering astronaut, physicist, and educator who became the first American woman in space. Created for High Point University, the interactive seated sculpture encourages students and visitors to reflect on the values of exploration, discovery, and lifelong learning. Through expressive figurative sculpture, Stephen celebrates Sally Ride's spirit of curiosity while honoring her lasting contributions to science, education, and the pursuit of knowledge.
